Arhangel.Finance app on a phone: new record, list of records and analytics, demo data

The problem

The owner of a small business needed to keep income and expenses in one place and enter them right away, from a phone, instead of reconstructing them from memory at the end of the week.

Spreadsheets are a poor fit for this: too many steps on a small screen and no ready picture of the month.

What was done

The app is designed phone-first and installs to the home screen as a PWA. A new record is an amount, an operation type, a payment method, a date and an optional comment.

The list of records is grouped by day, filtered by period, type and payment method, and shows totals for the selection right away.

Monthly analytics shows the balance, income, expenses and a breakdown by cash, cashless payments and invoices. Amounts are stored in minor currency units, so there are no rounding errors.

All data in the screenshots is fictional: names, phone numbers, addresses and amounts were generated for the demo. No personal data of real people is shown.

Business value

The owner logs a transaction in a few seconds and can see at any moment how much came in, how much went out and by which method — without spreadsheets or manual math.
